This Journal carries no advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links.
Hosted stays
If a hotel, destination or company has paid for my accommodation or a similar cost related to an article, the article says so. Hosting does not buy coverage, a positive review or approval of the text. The content I publish is independent.
Paid communication work
Through Malvado the Lab I do paid communication work for companies and public bodies, some of them in tourism. If I write about a current or recent client, the article states the relationship.
Travel advisor work
As a Fora Travel advisor (Riesco Itineraries), I earn commissions on hotels booked through Fora. If an article covers a property I can book, the article says so. Being bookable is never a reason to cover a place, and articles carry no booking links.
Sustainability claims
When I describe a place as sustainable or regenerative, I explain what it does and where that information comes from. I don’t repeat labels or certifications without checking who issues them.
Use of AI
I use AI tools only for technical tasks. Reporting, writing, verification and editorial decisions are mine.
Corrections
