I’m Covadonga Riesco, a travel journalist based in Gijón, Asturias. I write about regenerative tourism: how destinations, hotels and communities manage the impact of visitors, and what changes when they do.
I worked in strategic communication for more than thirty years before journalism became my main work. I hold a Master of Travel Journalism from the School of Travel Journalism (STJ).
My other work
- I run Malvado the Lab, which produces immersive content (virtual tours, binaural sound) and communication for companies and public bodies, some of them in tourism.
- I’m an independent travel advisor affiliated with Fora Travel, trading as Riesco Itineraries. I’m paid a design fee and commissions on bookings.
